The vest is not like older body armor, stiff and uncomfortable, it is super light weight and allows the wearer to move freely and stay cool on hot days. To clean the vest inserts, just use a damp cloth and a little soap.
These are Not "cheap imported vests", NOT made in China, but quality U.S.-made vests that are in good condition, inexpensive, ready to wear. Police Departments are legally obligated to only use vests under warranty with an insurance policy - so even though a 5 year old vest is typically still perfectly serviceable, they are retired.
By buying a vest from me, you certify that you are law-abiding, of adult age, and have no felony convictions, and it is against the law for a felon to possess Body Armor under both federal law (unless required by your employer, se, Sec. 931). By buying Armor you assume ALL risks of use or misuse, and agree not to hold me liable in any way. In addition, YOU are responsible to ensure that your ballistic panels are positioned inner side IN, and outer side OUT if applicable (check the inside vest panel label). I neither assume, nor authorize any person to assume for me any liability in connection with the sale or use of the goods sold, and there are no oral agreements or warranties collateral to or affecting this agreement. I hereby give notice that any statement made by me in the sale of the goods, shall not create any warranty that the goods shall be fit for any particular purpose. I specifically disavow any other representation, warranty, or liability related to the condition or use of the goods. I do not cover any consequential damages.
